It’s been a while since I wrote about art, specifically my art. I guess I got caught up in political rants, or critique how my academic side would call it. So today I have a news update from my artistic personality for you, she’s lovely. The painting I’m presenting today is already a few months old, nevertheless it’s still accurate regarding my very personal style. Just as I wrote this article I started to rethink about the meaning and what this painting reminds me of.

Facts:
- Acrylic on canvas
- 50 x 70 cm
The painting reminds me of an underwater world, with lots of seaweed. Just missing some fish. Actually the circles could be the arms of an octopus. An octopuses garden (can you literally see the light bulb switching on in a bubble next to my head?). Yes, I found a name for this painting. May I present you: In An Octopus’s Garden. This phrase comes from a song by the Beatles, from the last Album Abbey Road. And if you know me, you also know I’m a big fan of the Beatles. Great song, have a listen, it will lift up your mood and your butt from the couch.
During these special times I expected to be more inspired to paint since I have a lot more free time. However, the opposite seems to be the case since I still have to finish another painting which I started over a month ago. Only a month, some of you might ask? Some artists take years to finish a piece of art. I do know that, but for me it is a bit like with an unfinished book. It’s on the back of your mind, yet you can’t seem to find the time or motivation to finish it. And then you reach the moment when give yourself a kick in the backside and finish that book (or painting in this case). So I’m sure the time will come.
You may say the painting just looks the same as all my other ones, just different colours. Well, sure. Everyone has their own sense of style and I mainly paint for myself and sometimes for specific requests, but I always try to stick to my style. I believe everyone can paint, all you need is a brush, canvas and some paint. It doesn’t have to be the super fancy paint from an art supplies shop where I seem to spend most of my money. It can be any sort of artistic paint you can find. What you really need is simply your imagination which you won’t find in a shop. So sit down and have a go, I promise it will be rewarding on all sorts of levels.
Hello Eva, I like your paintings. I can dive into the colours and can see the Beatles visiting Octopus’s Garden.
All the best
Christian

It is similar, you are right. But still, I see some change, or development. It looks elegant
